Marathon is a drink for the ultra-endurance specialist. Long chain maltodextrins combined with high protein concentrations, provide more sustained energy delivery and improve hydration. The protein content also helps reduce muscle damage. A mix of performance and recovery aids complete the picture.
Benefits and Usages
Long chain maltodextrins improve performance and hydration during prolonged endurance exercise while the optimal balance of maltodextrin and fructose improves exercise performance, maximises gastric emptying rate and increases fluid absorption rate, delaying fatigue and delaying the onset of dehydration.
Optimal carbohydrate / protein ratio (5:1). Numerous studies have proven the efficacy of mixed protein and carbohydrate ingestion in comparison to carbohydrate alone. Mixed carbohydrate / protein drinks reduce exercise related muscle damage and catabolism and may improve exercise performance.
Taurine supplementation improves exercise performance and reduces exercise induced muscle damage.
Magnesium is an essential element in energy metabolism and cell function. - Directions and Dosages
- Add 1.5 (one and one half) heaped scoops of Marathon to 500 ml of water (2 level scoops per 750 ml bottle). Drink 500-600 ml each hour during intense exercise.
- Do not exceed the recommended daily intake. Food supplements should not replace a diet.
